Education and Continuing Education

Dr. Polimeni received his doctorate in Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. After a one-year residency in Advanced General Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania, he received his specialty training and certification to practice the specialty of periodontics fromTemple University in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of the prestigious Misch Implant Institute at the University of Pittsburgh completing advanced course study in bone augmentation and dental implant surgery.

Dr. Polimeni is a former assistant clinical professor in the Department of Implant Dentistry of New York University, and a visiting professor in their Department of Periodontics. He lectures both locally and nationally on topics related to both periodontics and dental implants. His Quarterly Newsletter contains up-to-date news and information regarding periodontics and dental implants.

Professional Experience

Dr. Polimeni has been practicing periodontics and dental implantology since 1990, and enjoys making a difference in his patients' appearance and lifestyle. He always makes a sincere effort to get to know every one of his patients in a personal way. Patient interaction and making people feel comfortable and part of the family is of utmost importance to him.

Family Life

Dr. Anthony Polimeni is originally from East Northport, and has lived in East Setauket for the past 15 years. He and his lovely wife, Tracey, have two grown daughters named Nicole and Janlyn. Dr. Polimeni is an avid automotive enthusiast in his spare time, and is also the drummer for Willy and The Poor Boys, Long Islands tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival!
